What makes a home…a home?

Interesting to read about what people feel makes a home:

‘The notion of “home” is about the place you feel safe and where you feel connected to other people you like,’ says psychologist Linda Papadopoulos. ‘………. many of our significant memories are now created around our homes.’

The notion of private space is key to our sense of wellbeing and self-expression, believes Simon Moore, environmental psychologist at London Metropolitan University.

Perhaps it’s as simple as a favourite chair by the fire or being surrounded by simple possessions that all hold precious memories.

What do you think makes a home?

Home cooking brought to your own home

What could be nicer than knowing your parent has enjoyed a wholesome home cooked meal in their comfort of own home?

Canary is loving the idea of the Casserole Club that helps people share extra portions of home cooked food with others in their area who are not always able to cook for themselves.

Not only does this mean that older people get all the goodness of a home cooked meal but they meet new people in their area and get the chance to have a chat with someone friendly.

Brilliantly simple.
